René is a SACRED scholar in a highly competitive, federally funded doctoral training initiative that prepares future faculty to support students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). Through the program, she receives advanced preparation in behavioral supports, social–emotional learning, trauma-informed interventions, culturally responsive practices, mental health supports, and family engagement. Mentorship is a cornerstone of the fellowship, and René is co-mentored by Dr. David Lee and Dr. Jonte (JT) Taylor.
